At Vaanisethu, we respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, and (if you use Google Sign-In) your Google profile information.
• Usage Data: We anonymously count page views to track overall platform traffic. No personal data is tied to this count.
• Payment Information: Payments are processed by Razorpay. We store only your plan type, payment ID, and transaction timestamp. We do not store credit/debit card numbers.
• Device Fingerprint: We collect a browser fingerprint (via FingerprintJS) solely to prevent abuse of the one-time Free Pass. This data is not shared with third parties.
• IP Address: Used transiently to prevent Free Pass abuse. We do not store IP addresses beyond the claim check period.
• Contact Messages: When you submit a help or bug report, we receive your name, email, message, and optional screenshot. These are sent to our support inbox and not stored in our database.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and manage your account.
• To process payments and activate your subscription.
• To prevent abuse of free-tier features.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To monitor platform health and improve the experience.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database hosted on Google's infrastructure in compliance with GDPR and Indian data protection standards. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — Authentication and database
• Razorpay — Payment processing
• FingerprintJS — Browser fingerprinting for abuse prevention
• Google Fonts — Typography (no personal data shared)
• Render — Server hosting

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Vaanisethu uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to:

• Remember that you have claimed your one-time Free Pass.
• Store your session authentication token (managed by Firebase).

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Children's Privacy

Vaanisethu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations. You may request account deletion at any time.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, Firebase security rules, and server-side payment signature verification. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will indicate the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
